Six Sentence Sunday


This week's excerpt is from a short story I'm working on called Mating Run.

"Davey Spooner is standing over there by the bar. You know he’s got a thing for you, and he’s really cute. All you have to do is give him a little encouragement, and he’ll be all over you like white on rice.”
Maggie gave a choked laugh, making sure she didn’t glance in the direction her friend had indicated, and murmured,  “He’s a nice guy, Sasha, but –”
“No buts. You said you were ready to forget about that dumbass werewolf Caleb Blake and move forward, so look over there and smile at him, damn it.”

  2. Okay, I have to admit I love the phrase "dumb ass werewolf." We don't see that used often enough in fiction.
