Six Sentence Sunday

Today's excerpt, like the last two weeks, comes from
Thirst, All-American Vampires 2, my latest WIP.

“I said sit down, Miss Landry. I suggest you do as I say and not test my patience any further than you already have today.”

The cold menace in his voice sent a shiver of trepidation down her spine and she automatically moved forward and pulled out one of the chairs. She glanced over at him as she sat. Hawk remained still and silent, his piercing gaze moving over her as if he were trying to figure her out. She knew he was good at his job, and for the first time became worried that she might have gotten in over her head.
