Six Sentence Sunday


 This week's excerpt is from my short story Mating Run.


“Ladies and gentlemen, those of you who plan on participating in the mating run should begin assembling in the designated area at this time.”
Caleb spoke up quickly, “Maggie,  I’ll take you home since you're not going to run.”
“Oh, I absolutely plan to run tonight.” She sent him an evil little smile and turned to head outside with several other wolves.
Spooner cast him a triumphant grin before he took off after Maggie. 
Caleb wanted to howl.
