Dark Friday: Count von Count

The Muppet vampire, Count von Count from Sesame Street, is based on actual vampire myth. One way to supposedly deter a vampire is to throw seeds (usually mustard) outside a door or place fishing net outside a window. Vampires are compelled to count the seeds or the holes in the net, delaying them until the sun comes up.

  1. OMGosh...I had no idea that vamp myth included them having a compulsive need to count! So if I put a jar of gumballs outside my door, do you think they would stop to tally them up? LOL

  2. Interesting. Muppets have creeped me out a little since I was a kid and my cousins swore their 'Animal' muppet doll came alive at night and bit their ankles. LOL

  3. @Serena...lol! I guess they would. I'm trying to figure out how I would include this in a book. :)

  5. Too adorable! Hmmmm, gumballs could work. Of course, maybe, a whole sack of garlic cloves would really stop them in their vampiric tracks.
